In today's newsletter from oscraps.com, there was a link for a coupon code to get Designs by Sue Cummings' Simply Quick #37, a black and white quick page. It also described the Black & White Photograph Challenge. I thought, "Why not?" I know I won't win anything, I just wanted to participate. When I started to think about it, wedding pictures immediately came to mind. Here's my very first digital scrapbooking challenge entry:
After I uploaded, I looked at a few of the other entries. Some took advantage of all the rules, adding other Designs by Sue Cummings embellishments. Others, like me, simply used the quick page as is. Some even covered parts of the existing page, making it a little more their own. I'm proud of my page, not to mention happy that I finally found a challenge I felt I could enter! :)
The main purpose of this blog is to serve as an outlet to share my digital scrapbooking layouts with others and not bore all my friends on Facebook to death with them. Of course, I'm sure I'll be including plenty of other things in my life. I just began using My Memories Suite 2.0. If you're interested in purchasing this great software, you can save $10 on the purchase price by using coupon code STMMMS24479 at www.mymemories.com

I love tutorials!
Since my My Memories Suite software came in, I've been slowly figuring out how to utilize it. It isn't difficult, I just don't know all the tricks. Never really using any other scrapbooking software, I was almost totally clueless about it. Then I found the scrapbooking blog on The Pink Toque and watched Lesley's tutorials, which I mentioned in a previous post. While playing on My Memories, I found my way to the blog. Guess what I found! That's right, more tutorials! There are links to video tutorials and coordinating pdf files on this post March into MMS tutorial links. I've only watched the first few, but I've already learned so much. I couldn't find the goodies I had downloaded from the My Memories store. Now I know where to find them. I tried to use a quick page download on my own, but I couldn't figure it out. It was so simple, I don't know why I didn't realize what to do. Here's my first quick page:
It'll take me a while to watch all the videos. Lisa J. at My Memories posted a new video and pdf to their blog almost every day in March, so that's about 30 videos to watch. I can hardly wait to see what I'll be able to do with my scrapping once I watch them all!

Wow! I Was Productive
I haven't been sleeping well, so I was afraid I would sleep the entire day away. I did sleep, but not as much as I really would've liked. Paul found out the other day that Team Impact was at a church here in Texarkana this weekend. We saw them on TV shortly after we were married (just over 7 years ago) and he's wanted to see them in person ever since. This is the first opportunity we've had to catch them in our area. Here's the page I did with the picture I took before everything got started.
For the background page, I used the "picker" option in the software to match it to the blue in the Team Impact jackets. The center part is a stucco texture that I downloaded, but I can't for the life of me figure out where I got it. When I figure it out, I'll edit. The brads are included in the software. At this point, I'm not sure exactly what album this will be going in. Since seeing Team Impact was on Paul's bucket list, I'm thinking of making him a bucket list album. The other option I'm considering is just making a Team Impact album. We definitely want to see them perform again.
Now to the other page I created tonight. I'm gonna make pages about the teams I like, my favorite things, my "addictions". It just occurred to me that I can put all these pages in a Favorite Things album. I had to get creative on this Longhorns page.
I know paper scrapbooking supplies exist for college and pro teams, but I can't find any digi scrapping supplies. This page is created entirely from images I downloaded from various sites on the internet. Mostly, I did a Yahoo! image search for Texas Longhorns and accessed these pictures. I didn't use a texture on the background this time. I just really lowered the opacity for the picture I used as the "paper". I think it's set at like 35.
Now that I'm thinking about a Favorite Things album, I keep thinking of things to include in it. I guess I should write it all down somewhere so I can make sure to get pics of the things I can.

Technologically correct?
Will I ever really NEED to blog from my phone? Maybe not, but I'd rather figure it out now than be frustrated later if I do have a blogging emergency. :)

Welcome to My Blog
Here's the first page I created using My Memories Suite 2.0.
The paper and elements are in the software. I decided to start out easy. I've downloaded tons of free papers, elements, alphas, etc., but I wanted to try to ease into my adventure. (Yeah, I'm the girl that has to test the water in the swimming pool with her feet before she slowly eases herself into the water. No jumping right in for me!)
After I created this layout, I somehow found my way the digital scrapbooking blog at The Pink Toque. Not only did I find more free downloads, but I also learned that Lesley has posted tutorial videos on YouTube. I haven't watched them yet, but I saved them to watch later.
I realized something very important tonight. I don't have my digi scrapping supplies arranged right! Yeah. I just went to try to create a cute little picture for the top of my blog. (Hopefully, it'll be there soon.) I arranged most of my stash in folders by store, designer, etc. I quickly learned that isn't really functional. I guess my next step is to rearrange my goodies by what they are. I'm guessing it'll be a lot easier to find the paper I'm looking for if I have all my papers together. My new dilemma? How do I know who designed what or where I got it? I guess I'll figure it out as I go. I'm not sure if my anal retentiveness is a good thing in this area or not. :/ Oh well.
Off to reorganize . . . Again!
